EBT and Debit at the Market
EBT technology will allow those with SNAP benefits (formerly known as food stamps) to use their benefits at the farmers markets to purchase acceptable items. A Double Dollar Coupon will double the value of SNAP benefits. For every dollar of SNAP benefits you redeem at the market, FOG will give you another dollar to spend on SNAP-eligible purchases.
Those who wish to use debit or credit cards will also be able to use their cards at the market, for a $2 convenience charge, much like an ATM, that will assist in funding the continuing availability of the project after the initial year.
